Hello everyone, my name is James Perkins. I grew up in Bremen, Kentucky on a cattle farm with both my parents, an older brother, and  younger sister. My dad owned a lumber company and had a construction crew. My a very young age I was by his side working. I played basketball and soccer in high school going on to play soccer in college. After a few years of college, I left to join the U.S. Army. I was stationed in Germany and deployed to Afghanistan. I enjoyed my time in the army, but I felt that it was my time to search out new opportunities. Once my time was up in the Army I went beck to college to finish my degree in Social Studies and Math. I have taught math and social studies in a traditional classroom for 3 years before making the switch to IVLA. I have been married for 5 years now and have recently became a foster dad to 5 kids. Not knowing what is around the next corner in life is the biggest adventure for me.
