Hello! My name is Donna Mehalchick-Opal (Me - hall - chick - opal). I am a success coach at IVLA and look forward to helping you meet your academic goals! I enjoy working with students as they grow in their understanding of themselves and the world. I have Master’s & Bachelor’s degrees in Writing Arts from Rowan University, where I focused on writing center work and technical and strategic writing. I also earned associate’s degrees in Psychology and Communications from Rowan College of Gloucester County.
I teach college writing and do work surrounding First-Year writing and university writing tutoring support and training with a special focus on communities of practice, linguistic inclusion, and neurodiversity. When I’m not coaching or teaching my favorite hobby is reading. I also love hiking and camping.
