Credit by Exam (CBE) allows students the opportunity to earn credit for a class by taking an exam that measures their competencies in and mastery of a core course required for graduation.
High school students who believe they can master an exam based on the course learning objectives can attempt to earn a CBE. To do so, IVLA students should be aware of the following processes and procedures:
- A passing grade will only be awarded for grades earned at 70% or above.
- Students may not earn Honors or AP credit through a CBE.
- NCAA students may not earn credits through CBE.
- Students must be able to sit for one uninterrupted hour for each exam.
- A student may retake a CBE once after 2 weeks of a failed exam.
