IVLA Teacher: Jacklyn Olney

Jacklyn Olney

Social Studies
The most important thing I learned as a teacher is that it is WAY more than presenting relevant information. Teaching includes forging bonds and connections with students, colleagues, and parents to ensure that learning is worth it to students and stakeholders. While I always see room for improvement in myself, the greatest thing that I have learned is to build relationships. Being able to see the change in a student from their lowest point in school and seeing them graduate is one of the greatest pleasures I have had in this job to date.
