Students with the GATE program will have all the resources of our regular program. Students will work at an advanced level and likely take additional courses. Also, they will work with a GATE specialist each week as they complete projects with other GATE students.
Yes. Students in the GATE program are required to attend weekly meetings with their GATE specialist in a virtual classroom. During these meetings, GATE students will be working as a team on projects.
Students can be tested once a year. If students do not qualify, they may take the test again in 12 months.
Yes. Due to the fluctuation in the determinations by different school districts, IVLA will need to administer our own test and measures to determine eligibility.
Eligibility is determined through a compilation of measurements. IVLA will administer a nationally recognized GATE test that is appropriate to the student’s grade level.
