Lauren Herrera

I began with IVLA in 2008 after spending time in a brick and mortar classroom, and have loved it here since the very beginning. I have seen a lot of growth and change over the years, and I love that IVLA is always striving to make a positive impact on the families we serve. I started as an elementary teacher here at IVLA, and through the years have expanded my roles to include elementary success coach, elementary lead teacher, high school electives teacher, high school success coach, and most recently Director. I am so honored to be able to serve all of the families and staff here at IVLA. One of my passions is creating a community centered environment at IVLA. I have worked on growing the opportunities for the students, families, and staff to collaborate and build community. We have expanded our programs over the years, and are proud to offer clubs for our students, a National Honor Society chapter, a student run newsletter, a student government, some ways for students and staff to discuss and collaborate, and more!
